    How do I make my Win 10 SSD bootable after dual boot failure?


    Hi,

    My machine was built with Win7 on a mechanical HD, a SSD was added onto which Win10 was installed. At power-on a Dual Boot option menu was displayed - and timed out to Win10.


    The HD has now falied and has been disconnected but the SSD does not boot by itself.


    How can I make the PC boot from the SSD?


    I have a feeling the answer is using BootRec on the Installation DVD in Repair mode but I'm not sure what to do such that I don't lose the programs,

    drivers & data.


    The SSD is a Samsung 850 EVO, 240Gb - and I seem to recall this gave some people problems installing Win 10 partition sizes?
