Windows 10: How do I match my Windows User to use my User Folder?

So I made the dumb mistake of changing the name of my user folder under This PC -> Windows -> Users -> my user folder name from another administrator account, and now that when I log into that user from the sign-in screen, Windows displays the message that it cannot sign me in and starts a temporary session. Is there any way to undo that? I tried using a restore point but it failed. I must have unlinked my folder from my account when renaming.


I did a quick look up and I think it had something to do with the registry but I don't know anything about how to edit or change things.


How do I link my user back to using my user folder with desktop layout etc?


I could do an alternative and create a new user with the same email and move all the files over but I feel like that would take too long. I'm using windows 10 and I don't believe that my folder is corrupted.

Windows 7 - change user temp folder.

Hi all,
i would like to change user temp folder, becausze i can't install Nero. How to do that? I know how to change Windows temp folder, but not user.

 

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

any more suggestions

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.
