Windows 10: how do I merge an existing christmas tree file with an object/Hexagon for a base?

I'm Trying to merge a very detailed christmas tree that I found to be prone to falling over with one of the objects ie. the Hexagon what am I doing wrong, because it doesn't seem to merge.

Is there a way to unmerge objects once they have been merged?

 

Merging Word files

I want to merge several separate Word text files into one (large) document. I have selected the final document in Word 10 and clicked Insert. However neither 'object' nor 'file' appear in the list of options as was anticipated . Help/advice please

3D Builder program stalls out when trying to merge objects together

Great structural design.

Basing on the structure of the first image, there are an estimated 23 groups of objects. Merged objects are objects that were grouped together and becomes one whole new item. It is still counted individually even if it is already grouped as one.
