Windows 10: How do I obtain the original Windows Key sold with Asus M51VR

Hi,


Since having someone update my laptop to Windows 10 from the pre installed Windows Vista Home Premium Home some time ago, I have lost full access to certain systems. For example, when trying to open the control panel I get an error msg that shows Windows cannot find %windir%\system32\optionalfeatures.exe'. This is the same msg when trying to save or download a file and in most cases the download or save function is disable with this msg being displayed. I am also getting an error msg 810003c1.


I would like to complete either perform a full restore back to Windows Vista (I also do not have the original windows key and unsure of how to obtain it) or a free version if available or even understand how to fix the driver or access issue.


I understand the laptop is quite old however am needing to use it in the interim. Am open to suggestions on the best way to return the device back to its original functions or what may be the issue and how to resolve.

PC Cant Obtain a IP Address, Need some advice!

Step 1: Click START button
Step 2: In the Search area, type "regedt32" (of course don't include the ""), right click on the search result and "Run as Administrator".

Step 3: Click on "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE", should expand out to a list of stuff
Step 4: Next choose "SYSTEM", should expand again
Step 5: Choose "CurrentControlSet", expands again
Step 6: Choose "Services", expands to a super large list of stuff

Step 7: Click on "Dhcp", the right window will show the files in that folder
Step 8: Double click on "DependOnService"
Step 9: Delete all the words in text area, except "Afd", and click OK. You are done here

Step 10: Next under "Services", look for "EapHost", this should be a few folders below Dhcp Step 11: Same thing, double click on the file "DependOnService"
Step 12: Delete everything in the text are and click OK. You are done.

Now, close everything and RESTART WINDOWS. Your WLan should be back and working once your computer starts. Hope this saves you like it saved me. Thanks to original poster for the wonderful resolution. Your post was almost too obscure to find, but I'm glad this is SOLVED! I'll be spreading the word around to save people from the constant agony of WLAN SVC going balistic every time after a registry cleanup."

I found this over at Microsoft's Community forum
in a thread named, "Windows could not start Error 1068: The dependency or group failed to start the WLAN Auto Config serviceon the local computer."
It is sort of related to Kursah's post... you might wanna give it a try before wiping and re-installing as the last resort.

To set up the dual monitor, I suggest you to follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + P.
• Select the required option.

Also, suggest you to update the Display adapter driver by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R and type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter.
• Expand Display Adapters.
• Right click on the driver and select Update driver software.
