Windows 10: How do I open the windows handwriting panel on windows 11?

I am using a Surface Pro 11th Edition running Windows 11 with a Surface Slim Pen 2.In the past, when the keyboard was not connected, any time I went to input text, the handwriting panel would appear and I could input text through that. Now, instead of the handwriting panel, the touch keyboard appears. I have seen that the settings icon appearing on the touch keyboard should allow me to change to handwriting, but that option does not appear for me.I cannot figure out any way to access the handwriting panel any more, but would like to. Does anyone have any idea as to how I can fix this?

I understand that you're having trouble accessing the handwriting panel on your HP Specter.

To open the handwriting panel in Windows 11, you need to first open the touch keyboard. You can do this by clicking the keyboard icon on the Windows 11 Taskbar. If you don't see the keyboard icon on the taskbar, you can right-click on the taskbar and select "Show touch keyboard button."

Once you have the touch keyboard open, click the settings icon (it looks like a rectangle with a cog on it) and select the Handwriting option (a rectangle with a pen). This will switch the keyboard to the handwriting pane, and you can start writing in the search bar using the HP MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen.

Handwriting panel and pen!

Hi Nichola Duggan,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. To restore the handwriting panel to its maximum size on your daughter’s Surface Laptop 5, follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app by clicking on the Start menu and selecting the gear icon.
   
2. Click on "Bluetooth and Devices."
   
3. Click on "Pen & Windows Ink."
   
4. Scroll down to the "Handwriting" section and click on "Configure handwriting recognition."
   
5. In the handwriting panel, click on the three dots in the top right corner.
   
6. Select "Settings."
   
7. Under "Handwriting panel size," select "Use the largest available."
   
8. Close the settings window and try using the pen again.
   

This should bring up the handwriting panel in maximum size when you click once with the pen.
