    How do I play wma audio file with drm?


    I have tons of files I ripped years ago from my CDs before they were stolen from me. I also have some backup files for the DRMs How can I either get around the DRM blocking the use of these files and or restore the backed up DRM licenses in Windows 10?

    Nokia X3-00 Can't play WMA file ?

    It could be a couple of things.

    1. Assuming its an audio file, it could be as jimmy suggested, DRM protected.

    2. Assuming its a Video file, as far as I know X3 can only play WMA audio files.

    3. It could also be a problem with your cable.

    Where did the assumption come from? Do PlaysForSure files play on Windows Media Player 11 for desktop? And if yes, why isn't the phone supporting them? I can tell you that the DRM-WMA files I have are playing nicely in the Media Player, PlaysForSure or
    not.

    One additional point: Other users reported that the Zune DRM on Windows 7 devices played those DRM-WMA files correctly. The problems started happening with WP8.

    Missing DRM on WMA

    I interviewed my grandfather about his life story and made CDs on my laptop. I lost that laptop and so I ripped the CD audio to another laptop. That laptop crashed but I managed to retrieve the WMA files from the hard drive. That hard drive is gone too now. Now I cannot play them anywhere due to "DRM files/rights missing" on my new laptop.

    Please advise how I can get the files to play as it is of sentimental value to me.
