Windows 10: How do I power off my laptop?, I've tried holding the power button but it does not go off,...

I recently have an issue with my laptop, I switched it on without logging in and plugged in a USB cord connected to a phone , when I eventually unplugged the cord and tried to login to my computer the pin box wouldn't show, all that was there was the wallpaper and the cursor, I've tried to switch it off through the power button but it doesn't go off , all it does is switch off the screen for a while, what can I do?

When I press and hold power button

Hold the power button for 15 seconds or so. When you press the power button for a second or two, it will go into Sleep Mode. Hold it longer and it will shut off. Boot into Windows go to Search and type power options and press enter and change what the power button does and change it to Shut Down. I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps you.

• Remove all the externally connected devices and cables including the battery.
• Hold the power button for about a minute and release the power button.
• Connect only the power cable and power on the PC.
• Check if the issue persists.
