Windows 10: How do I prevent Appledouble files from showing in File Explorer?

There are a couple of users in our company who use Macbooks. Since all of our files are stored in Dropbox, if either of the Mac users access files or folders there, their OS creates "Appledouble" file entries prefixed with "._".I know the reasons why these entries are created, but what I cannot understand is that these did not always show in Windows, so something must have changed there.These entries really cause unwanted clutter, so I'd like to be able to hide them, obviously without having to set the properties of every single instance individually.I'd also like to avoid having to run any s

to prevent it from autopopulating try making the reg key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
\Applets\Paint\Recent File List read only

 

File explorer

Hi Mick,

I am sorry to know that the File Explorer is not working on the Taskbar.

I suggest you to right-click on it to unpin it from the task bar.

Then search for File Explorer in Search. Then right-click on it to Pin it to Taskbar.

If the issue persists, try the steps below.

• 
  Type CMD in Search. Right click on it to run as an administrator.
  
• 
  Type the following 4 commands at the Command prompt:
  

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

sfc /scannow

powershell

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

  Close the CMD window.
  
• 
  Check to see if the issue is resolved. If not, restart the PC.

"This file can't be previewed" problem in explorer

  C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
• Delete all the files.
• After deleting the files kindly try and see if there's a thumbnail preview of your files.
