Windows 10: How do I prevent my desktop icons from showing up on other users' desktops?

When I add a program like Quicken or Turbo Tax, how do I prevent the startup icon from showing up on my kids' desktops? Once it's there, how do I delete it?

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

the icons are located in 'all users' folder somewhere (for example, i see a few shared icons in "C:\Users\Public\Desktop" )

The only way to fix those, is to remove the icons from there, and place them on to each users desktops manually. an admin may need to do this.

 

Desktop Icons in Vista

Is there any way so they are unique to each user? For example, I don't want any game icons to show on my parents desktop, but I do want them to show on mine. Is there a way to set this? Thanks in advance!
