  1. How do I prevent the latest update from bricking my computer?

I noticed that windows was threatening to install updates on the next reboot (I had thought I blocked all the windows update servers in the host file but I guess they made more or something) I looked it up and apparently lots of people can't boot their computer after this update. I disabled the windows update service and renamed WaaSMedicSvc.dll to prevent it from being turned back on. ( I guess I should have done that day 1) But I'm worried that won't be enough since the update is already downloaded. How do I scrub the update from my computer to ensure that Windows will never try to install it?

  2. Latest updates prevent Windows from loading; automatic repair fails

The latest updates (5th January) prevent Windows 10 from loading. Here is the train of events.

    • Run the updates
    • Restart the computer
    • Shows a black screen with the jail window (or whatever you call that blue window); I waited 20 minutes before giving up
    • Ctrl+Alt+Delete: nothing happens
    • Press the hardware power button: the computer switches off
    • Turn on the computer: goes back to step 3
    • Hard power-off
    • Turn on computer: goes into automatic repair
    • Message: "Automatic repair couldn't repair your PC"
    • Select "Advanced options" > "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "System Restore" and restore to the most recent system restore point
    • Computer restarts normally
I have tried this three times, and the results are consistent. Every time that I run updates, the computer won't load.

What can I do, please, to get the updates working again? As far as I know, it's not possible to prevent the automatic updates (which was what began this process), and anyway I wouldn't want to prevent updates because of the security risk.

    Thank you

  3. Latest Updates Bricked 2 Computers

The latest Windows 10 Pro updates bricked 2 of my computers with error 0xc000000f. I've tried using a Recovery USB and a Windows 10 iso DVD. None of the recovery options worked. I can't reinstall Windows because an error message says my HD has an MBR
partition and on EFI systems Windows can only be installed to GFT disks. That doesn't make sense to me because the computer was running

Windows 10 Pro and has been since the free upgrade from Windows 7 Pro last year. HP Elite 8200 with Windows 10 Prox 64 and 16gb memory. How can I get my computers back?

  4. How do I prevent the latest update from bricking my computer?

gpu bios update failed, gpu bricked

I would suggest a cheap pci card and ensure you use the correct path where the bricked card is so you dont accidentally flash the pci card
