Windows 10: How do I prevent Windows 10 from storing my microsoft store password?

I got a Windows 10 message that I needed to download a new codec to play a file I received.


I chose "Get it", which took me to mnicrosoft store--which I have not previously used.


I chose "Buy" and it asked me to sign in.


I entered the email I use with Skype, and the password to go with it.


This brought up the message:


Windows will remember your account and make it easier to sign in to apps and websites. Clicking Next means that you'll be able to find a lost device, sync your settings to other devices, and ask Cortana for help.

That's where I stopped.


This is despite my having turned off every "remember password" option I am aware of in Edge, Firefox, and Windows itself. I use a password manager, and absolutely do not want any part of Windows remembering the password. Is there any way to prevent it or, if I must allow it, is there any way to delete it once I take care of this immediate need.

While I'm at it, this codec costs some trivial amount like .99, which I don't mind, but I do mind storing my credit card info online if I can avoid it Am I going to have to store it once I get that far, or am I permitted to enter it for this transaction only?

I see what you mean about the password but i think its a backward step to compromise my Microsoft password to to use the app store

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
