Windows 10: how do i print DARK black

I scanned a page that was printed too light to read. I've tried printing it darker using different settings, but I can't get a DARK black text. I'm printing on a HP MFP M183fw printer. I cannot find any control to print darker. HP has been NO help at all. I have HP smart software but there is no color control there either. I've tried to reset print options from the document's program, but that hasn't worked either.

Printing in Black

I am using an HP Officejet 4620 all in one printer and I am not able to print in dark black. I have run all of the recommendations that HP suggested. I have changed the ink cartridge even when there was still ink available. I checked that Grayscale was
turned off. I have also cleaned the printheads and done the alignment. If my document it typed in black, the printed page is in blue. Anyone have any suggestions?

We understand your concern, as you are getting print with the inverted color scheme. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)
• What is the make and model of the printer?
• Does the color invert while printing from all applications or any specific application?
• Are you aware of any changes prior to this issue?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these steps and check.

1. Go to Printer Properties and click on Advanced tab.
2. Click on Printing Defaults tab from the bottom.
3. Click on Advanced tab and click on Other Print Options.
4. Click on Print Text in Black and check the box beside Print Text in Black.
5. Click on OK on all the three windows.

Black screen printing wingdings with high pitched tone can be due to outdated drivers. This can also be connected to hardware issue. For us to isolate and identify
if this is a hardware or software issue, we suggest to perform the Windows Hardware Troubleshooter.

To access the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter, follow the steps provided below:

• Type “Troubleshooting” in the Search bar and press Enter.
  
• Click on “View All” in the top left corner.
  
• This will display the list of troubleshooters which are built-in in the computer. You can click on Hardware and Devices from the list and you can run the troubleshooter.
