  1. How do I purchase a movie from the Microsoft Store that I already rented?

I rented a movie from the Microsoft Store, because it said I could watch it on the Movies Anywhere app on my smart TV. But then I found out afterward after 2 hours of trying to get it to work that you can't watch rentals on the Movies Anywhere app, only purchased movies. So now I would like to purchase the movie instead, but it won't let me do that because I already rented it it only gives the Watch option. Do I have to wait 14 days for the rental to expire before I can buy it?

    :)

  4. How do I purchase a movie from the Microsoft Store that I already rented?

    Microsoft Store Digital Movie purchases

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The Microsoft Movies & TV app allows you to watch movies and TV shows purchased from the Microsoft Store on Windows, Xbox and Microsoft.com, as well as movies & TV shows previously purchased on Xbox Video or Zune Marketplace. TV shows can only be purchased,
not rented. If you rent a movie from Microsoft, in most cases you will have 14 days to start watching the movie. And once you start watching, in most cases you will have a 24-hour window to finish watching the movie. After the rental has been viewed, or the
time limits have been reached, the movie will automatically disappear from your collection.
