Windows 10: How do I reactive my Windows 11 Pro digital license after changing to a new motherboard and...

Hi thereI just upgraded to a shiny new motherboard and took the opportunity to also move to a larger and faster NVMe hard drive at the same time.I finally got it up and running last night; but I forgot to deactivate my Windows 11 Pro license key on the old setup first.Settings is now telling me to activate it but when I run troubleshooter it says it cannot activate as the key has already been used. I have tried to click 'changed hardware' option but it still fails and says I need to buy a new license key....I originally purchased my version of Windows 11 as a bootable DVD, which I obviously s

Digital license won't reactivate on new hardware (motherboard, cpu ram)

I have a digital license of Windows 10 that is linked to my Windows account. I've just replaced my motherboard, cpu and ram and whenever I attempt to reactivate my license the activation troubleshoot says "Unable to activate Windows, We can't reactivate Windows
on this device, Try again later.

Prior to changing my hardware I double checked my digital license, The activation said "Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account"

If I run 'winver' It also lists the produced is licensed to my Microsoft account.

According to this article below, All I should have to do is goto the activation troubleshooter and everything should work.

Will a digital license of windows 10 reactivate if I do a hardware change like change out my processor and motherboard?

Hi Everyone!

I just got a brand new motherboard and processor for Christmas. My current setup is running windows 10 pro with a digital license. When I change out my motherboard and processor will I have to reactivate windows? When I go to the Activation Settings within Windows 10, it says "Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account". To me, that sounds like it will reactivate but I'm unsure as windows is picky about reactivating on "new systems".
