    How Do I Recover Drive From Bitlocker


    My computer won’t boot because of the bitlock. My drive is now locked. I don’t know they key however I know the device ID. I am being told to contact admin to give them the device Id to unlock my drive. Can a MS IT specialist please help me with this? U would also like to turn this feature off as it does nothing but cause me grief. Thank you

    Bitlocker Stuck Decrypting

    For future reference, instead of using the TASK MANAGER to restart, you can simply hold CTRL + SHIFT and right click on blank space on the Task bar, to bring up 'Exit Explorer'.

    Another option is to use software.

    I suggest you to perform below mentioned steps to disable BitLocker.

    To disable BitLocker I would suggest you try the following steps and see if it helps.


    • Press Windows key + X and click on
      Control Panel.

    • Change View by from Category
      to Large Icons/Small Icons.

    • Click on BitLocker Drive Encryption and click on
      Turn BitLocker Off.

    • Follow on screen instructions. Click on Decrypt the Drive
      when the message appears.
