    How do I recover files from a HDD in a dead computer


    Hi there!I just had my desktop that was running on Win 10 I think stop turning on after a roof leak got it very wet. I went into a panic because I had a lot of legal documents on the desktop I know, I know...I just hadn't gotten around to backing them up because I'm an idiot. So, I found that I can get a USB to SATA and read off the drives to transfer files. Whooppeee! The best is that I have no less than 5 computers and 2 laptops that I have been waiting to pay to go recover files. So, as soon as I got the cord I plugged it into the HDD I had on a desktop setup that had the OS on a SS dri

    I have to admit it does not look hopeful. I have installed Testdisk as @jumanji instructions but it is taking a long time to get to the steps needed. This is as far as I have got to in the last half hour!
