Windows 10: How do I recover files from broken windows 10 computer?

Hey everyone,


recently my computer broke down. The computer won't load windows 10. After three tries and no success, windows loads up an automatic repair screen. I tried troubleshooting the problem but nothing works. I've also tried selecting the option to reset my computer while still keeping personal files. The computer just gets halfway through doing this then stops working (the screen just goes blank for hours and nothing happens) I then have no choice but to turn my computer off. (I hope this didn't cause anymore problems)


This computer has very important files on there and I'd like to transfer them to my windows 10 laptop. But im not sure how? I tried using a usb to sata cable but It wouldn't let me find and transfer any documents. If anyone could help me with this that would be amazing!

• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
