Windows 10: How do I recover files from USB used to load Windows?

I had to install a new hard drive; I used a USB to load Windows and now I can't find old files that were on the USB. Where did they go and how do I recover them?

windows by default does not have HFS and HFS+ based hard drives.
Able to perform retrieval on both HFS and HFS+ based hard drives. and so will not work with windows
