    How do I reinstall com1 port after uninstalling it? My reason for uninstalling it was because my com1 port was displaying this error code = this device cannot start. code 10 This is on my laptop running windows 10 pro. I tried to update the drivers 1st automatically I would get the message -"the best driver is installed for this device." Which lead me to trying : If updating doesn't work, try uninstalling the driver right-click, "Uninstall device," make sure to check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device" and then restarting your computer.     Device connected to COM1 in device manager

    Good day I was wondering when I go to my device manager and go to ports(COM & LPT) there is a device connected to COM1 "Communication Port(COM1)" but I don't have any devices connected to my pc accept my Arduino that uses serial any suggestions on what it could be I have a ASUS Prime z790p motherboard

    How do I reinstall com1 port after uninstalling it?

    The Port COM1 does not exist.

    I started receiving this error message each time I shut down my laptop and restarted, or I place in sleep mode and then start back up. "the port COM1 does not exist". In Device Manager, I do not have a category for "Ports". I am running Windows 10.

    In addition, Control Panel - System and Security - Backup and Restore (Windows 7). Why does this say " Windows 7" ? Is it safe to backup or restore if I have upgraded to Windows 10?
