Windows 10: How do I reinstall Windows 10 on a new hard drive without a physical disc?

Hi community. I have a Dell Inspiron 660 and the hard drive recently failed it lasted eight years. I ordered a replacement that is on its way. When I received the Inspiron there was no operating system media included. How do I reinstall my copy of Windows 10 on the new drive?


Years ago I replaced the hard drive in a Dell Optiplex. It was easy to install Windows XP on the new drive because I had a physical disc to insert.

• Are you trying to reinstall Windows 8 or Windows 10?
• If you already upgraded to Windows 10, were you able to create a new copy of the recovery drive?

My old hard drive has the windows 10 upgrade but it had only 55GB. the new one has 1TB.

To get the new D/D to work I installed windows 7 from my disc. How do I now copy or transfer windows 10 from one hard drive to the new Hard drive?
