Windows 10: How do I remove my name and email address from appearing on my PC's PIN login screen?

This is more of a curiosity question -- having my name and email address appear on my PC's PIN login screen does not create any problems for me. What bugs me is that I don't know what I did to add this info to my PIN login screen. It would be comforting to know how this information got there and how I can remove them.I'm a control freak.Thanks.

Cannot hide email address on login screen

OK, thanks for the replies. The laptop will be used for her school work, so maybe best to hide her email address on screen. So I ran through as per the tutorials and done the 'Settings sign-in method', 'gpedit.msc', 'secpol.msc' and 'registry dwords'. Nothing changes, still shows her email address on sign-in screen and no name. Went to 'netplwiz' properties and added her full name beneath her user name. If I shut down the pc on finishing my session and restart a new session going thru ctrl-alt-delete and thru to sign-in, her name appears and email hidden. If at anytime the pc asks to be restarted to complete a task, applications, program removal etc. It all reverts back to showing her email. Can go to 'netlpwiz' and re-insert her name in properties and if I end the session/shut down and restart at a later time. Her name appears and no email. Any suggestions ??

 

log in name is my email address and I'd like to change it to my name

i set up my family on windows 10 this week and to give us all separate logins on the PC but setting up @outlook email accounts to use as login names, emails and passwords. three of the four of us now see our name on the login screen like:

John Doe

*** Email address is removed for privacy ***

but one of the accounts got set up like

*** Email address is removed for privacy ***

*** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Id like the user name to appear as "John Doe" not the email address.

Any ideas on how to change?

 

How to remove email address from windows login

Fairly easy. Go to Settings>Accounts>Sign-in Options. Turn this option OFF.
