How do I remove or hide the System Reserved?

Hello everyone, I did a clean installation of windows 11 in a ssd nvme on gpt format and everything is working perfectly so far. But when I go to this PC inside of the windows folder, I see some driver called System Reserved D:. I assume the windows installation creates this drive. What I want to do is to remove the system partition, if it's safe, or just hide it from This PC and remove the assigned letter D: as well, since I plan to use other drivers and it would make sense if they're on order from d>e>f and so on. Thanks

    :)

  2. After recent update of Windows 10 I am seeing System Reserved Partition in explorer

    Hi,

You just need to remove the assigned drive letter for your System Reserved Partition to hide it. To do so, kindly follow these steps:

    • Right-click on the Start menu.
    • Click on Disk Management.
    • Right-click on the System Reserved Partition, then select
      Change Drive Letter and Paths
      .
    • Click on Remove, then select Yes.
    • Click OK to close the window.

Once done, the System Reserved Partition will be hidden.

Don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need further assistance with your concern.

  3. how to remove "System Reserved partition" from Defrag?

    Hello,

    To answer your questions:

    • When you install Windows 10 on a clean formatted disk, it first creates a partition on the disk at the start of the hard disk. This partition is called the System Reserved Partition. Next it use the balance unallocated disk space to create your system drive
and install the operating system. To see the System Reserved Partition, you will have to open Disk Management.
    • To remove "System Reserved partition" it would be easy to just leave it be. Windows hides it by default instead of creating a drive letter for it. Most people will never notice they have a System Reserved partition, and Windows will only show it to you
when you use disk-partitioning software. This partition is mandatory if you use BitLocker or want to use BitLocker in the future. Every drive is made ready for BitLocker while installing Windows.

  4. How do I remove or hide the System Reserved?

    System Reserved Memory issue

    Hi Rowan,

The reduction in available system memory depends on the configuration of the following:

    • The devices that are installed in the computer and the memory that is reserved by those devices
    • The ability of the motherboard to handle memory
    • The system BIOS version and settings
    • The version of Windows 10 that is installed
    • Other system settings

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest that you check your system for memory problems.

    Here's how:

    • Type mdsched.exe in the search bar and select the best match.
    • When prompted by the User Account Control, enter an admin user name and password, and click
      Yes.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to run it.

Let us know how it goes.
