Windows 10: How do I remove shortcuts or links in the taskbar desktop in Win10?

Somehow the toolbar "Desktop" that you can display on the taskbar has become populated with shortcuts that I did not add, and that don't actually appear on my desktop - I've spent hours searching for where the "Desktop Toolbar" stores it's data and cannot find the real answer. Most articles say it's a combo of your user account's desktop and the Public Desktop, but that's not true - I looked in both and I don't see the extra and unwanted links. For instance, there's an item that's not a a shortcut or link - when I open it's properties the entire dialog box is empty - how do I get rid of that i

Taskbar screen saver shortcut

Normally, it will only allow you to create a shortcut on your desktop but not in your Taskbar. To assist you with your concern, you can follow these steps to circumvent it:

• Send the screensaver shortcut on your desktop.
• Right-click on the screensaver shortcut and click-on properties.
• Paste the following information in the Target option under Shortcut C:\Windows\explorer.exe "C:\Windows\System32\scrnsave.scr"
• Hit Apply.
• Hit OK.

Pin Windows 10 Maps to taskbar or create a desktop shortcut for it

In pinning an app in taskbar and creating a desktop shortcut, follow the steps below.

A. How to pin apps to taskbar in Windows 10.

• Type Maps in Cortana Search.
• Right-click on it and choose Pin to Taskbar.

B. How to create desktop shortcut in Windows 10.

• Right-click an open area on the Desktop.
• Hover your mouse on New and click Shortcut.
• Click Browse.
• Click the program or file you want to create a shortcut.
• Choose Open and hit Next. You have the option to change the name for the shortcut.
  
• Click Finish button if it appears at the bottom of the dialog box.
• Click Next button if it appears at the bottom of the dialog box.
• Click the icon you want to use for the shortcut, and then click Finish.

I'll need a few more details to provide an accurate solution:

• Is the issue specific to Access application?
  
• Have you removed the previous shortcuts and try adding them again?
  

I would suggest you to remove all the Office shortcuts from the taskbar. Now go back to the same location
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16\MSACCESS.EXE. Left-click the name of the program, and drag it onto your desktop. Now, Right click the application icon on the desktop, and click "Pin this program to the taskbar".
