Windows 10: How do I remove the feed or stories from my task bar, but keep the weather widget?

I can't for the life of my understand why Windows is forcing these stories onto me I have no desire for them, but they seem to be intrinsically tied to widgets. Like windows knows we don't WANT feeds, but NEED widgets so they are piggy backing them on something far more useful.

How can I just get the weather widget without the news feed? I've tried everything, I can think of, but I have been unable to figure out how I can just have the weather widget without all the news feed. I have no interest in the news feed at all. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

 

Weather widget on the task bar

The weather widget on the task bar is frozen at the night time temperature from a few days ago. I've tried turning it off then turning it on but it's unchanged. Any ideas of how to get it to work? Thank you!

Thank you, Kapil. I was able to uninstall but not reinstall the widgets. I followed the printed directions then the video instructions but for both I ran into problem as none of my screens matched yours. It was way too much work just to have the temperature visible on my task bar. I'll make do with the Weather Underground app on my phone. Thanks again, Keta
