Windows 10: How do I remove the onedrive url from my desktop?

I am really irate at this onedrive bs. It installed itself with windows, i know its a windows program but then it succeeded in taking everything I had on my desktop and throw it into my onedrive which immediately started giving me error messages cuz the onedrive doesnt have enuf space and one drive was hounding me to buy more space. yeah...no i use google drive its far superior. anyway everything on my desktop now had the onedrive url in it and now everything I put on my desktop now has the stupid url. IT doesnt show that url when Im in the folders it shows the actual url until something get

Cannot Remove OneDrive from Desktop

Hey everybody, ran into a problem that I can't seem to fix and was hoping for some help.

I had to reinstall Windows 10 the other day and in doing so, OneDrive came up. I uninstalled it from the Control Panel, but it left an empty folder on my desktop, which appears in the toolbar as well as in Explorer.

I ran the suggested registry changes as described here: How to remove OneDrive desktop icon Solved - Windows 10 Forums

Still, nothing.

Any ideas on how I can fix this annoying issue?

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

Hi .... wish to remove OneDrive from fresh install W10.....
have uninstalled it from inside Control Panel but am unnerved to find a OneDrive folder lurking in my username folder, which contains some 10GB predominantly a clone of my Desktop ... please, please could someone provide the steps necessary to completely remove it ..... thanks in advance .....
