Windows 10: How do I remove the word “Search” next to the magnifying glass in windows 11 taskbar?

Initially, it was just the new search button or magnifying glass on the taskbar. After resetting the computer to factory, now taskbar shows the magnifying glass with the word “Search” next to it. Is there a way to remove the word “Search” And just have the magnifying glass?

To add the magnifying glass to the Quick Access Toolbar:-



1.



Towards the top left-hand corner of the WORD window hover the mouse over the icon that looks like a line with a downwards facing arrow under it (Customize Quick Access Toolbar) then click that option to reveal a further list of options from which click on:-



More Commands . . .



A window called:-



Word Options



- should open.

In the window called:-



Word Options



- on the left-hand list of icons



- you’ll see the magnifying glass icon with the word Find to its right



Click:-



Add >>



- so that Find now appears on the right-hand list of icons then click:-



OK

The magnifying glass icon should now have been added to the Quick Access Toolbar.







What can you do with Cortana in Windows?

Well for the Task Bar search....it shrinks from a box to a magnifying glass, when you turn off Cortana and/or the web search part of the taskbar search box.

The Taskbar search still works. It's just a magnifying glass. Click on that and the search box will pop up.

 

Windows 11 taskbar search no longer searches the web

Until a recent update, the magnifying glass icon available for the taskbar searched both the web and the local computer/network. Now, it no longer searches the web. At the top of the widgets area, there is a search the web field, but I really want the ability to search from the icon on the taskbar. Suggestions?
