    How do I rename usb2ser.sys to usb2ser.sys.old


    I have attempted to rename usb2ser.sys to usb2ser.sys.old. I have even attempted to do it in Safe Mode. I keep getting a permission error. How do i grant myself system file permission so i can rename the file.

    lvrs64.sys

    Same problem. Sometimes multiple BSOD's per day. I disabled lvrs64.sys by renaming it _lvrs64.sys and replaced it with the generic Windows driver, but now the video works,
    but no audio.

    Ndistpr64.sys crashing HUGE PROBLEM

    In Safe Mode can you go to the following folder:

    C:\Windows\System32\drivers

    In that folder is there a ndistpr64.sys ?

    If so right-click the ndistpr64.sys and rename the ndistpr64.sys to ndistpr64.old

    Then see if you can restart and run the computer in Normal Mode.

    Windows 10 corrupt boot file sfvfs02.sys

    I had the same issue. You helped me to findout what to do. It seems that "StarForce protection" corrupeted computer by its drivers...

    Computer cannot be booted even in safe mode, because this drivers are used even in safe mode.

    What exactly i did:

    1) I used Operation System Life Distribution DVD (Ubuntu in my case) to boot computer.

    2) I renamed c:\windows\system32\drivers\sfvfs02.sys to sfvfs02.sy (or you can just remove this file... )

    and then i renamed also these files:

    %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\sfsync03.sys

    %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\sfhlp02.sys

    %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\sfdrv01.sys

    (This list i found here: http://superuser.com/a/93473/196494 )

    3) reboot computer and it works!
