Windows 10: How do I repair the folder association for Programs and Features?

When I open Programs and Features from the Control Panel, rather than displaying the information associated with the programs installed, it displays information I would expect to see when I open a Music folder. How do I go about repairing this feature?

Open Control Panel - Programs and Features

Click Microsoft Office in the list of installed applications

At the top, click 'Change'

On the resulting dialog, click 'Repair' - choose the Online Repair, it is a comprehensive fix

That should fix any issues with your Office Installation . . .

 

Programs not working

In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
Are you able to follow them?
In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.

 

Can a file extension(.flv) be added to Default Program Associations.

1. Type "Control Panel" without the quotes in search box and click on it.

2. Click on Programs.

3. Then click on Default Programs and click on Choose Default for this Programs.

4. Select .flv file from the list.

Also you can try other steps to associate the a particular extenstion with the program.

1. Type "Control Panel" without the quotes in search box and click on it.

2. Click on Programs.

3. Then click on Associate a file type or protocol with a program
and search for .flv extension from the list.

4. Click on .flv and then click on Change Program.
