I was having problems with my laptop, so I decided to uninstall the last update. A restart was required, which I did. When it rebooted, it opened to a blue screen asking that I enter a password for the Administrator account or user account. I have forgotten the password I used for the administrator account, as I have not needed to use it since the day it was set up, 4 years ago. When I select the user account under my own name and email, and enter the password, I get a response that the password id incorrect and I am prompted to start again. I also tried entering my microsoft account to passwo

- If you are following the tutorial Bree suggested in the very first reply to your question then what you need to do at each step is explained in detail. So which step are you at?
- If you are following a different procedure then state what it is and which step you are at. If, for example, you are trying to manually enable the Built-In Admin as suggested in post #11 then that account has no password.

Envy laptop password reset!

I have a envy spectre 14t -3000, got it with a McAfee endpoint encryption password, did not find out until I ordered the ac power adapter to turn it on. I only have a user name, how can I reset this password? There is no administrator password.

Please help.
