    how do I reset my browser default in windows 10?


    Please explain where the default settings are in windows 10 prof 64bit? I do not have "default settings" under System as instructed by one of the online answers.

    I put "default settings" in the start menu and it came up with all kinds of junk.

    Can anyone just steer me to the correct place?

    • Does this issue happens while you try to set other browser as default too or is it specific to specific browser?

    Any browser.

    Already did the steps you suggested. It's some kind of bug where it's impossible to set a default browser at all.

    I heard elsewhere from one other user     that it seems to be a problem with upgrading to 10 on the SP3. Sounds very specifc.

    Reset the default browser to Google Chrome

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community. I apologize for the inconvenience.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if the changes apply to the system.

    • Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
      Control panel from the context menu.
    • From the top right corner of the screen click on
      View by       and select Large icons.
    • Select Default Programs and click on
      Set your default programs from the window.
    • Under Programs, select Chrome browser, click on
      Set this program as default and click on OK.
    • Close the window and check if the changes are effective.

    Let us know the status.
