Windows 10: How do I reset my Ethernet Drivers? Or fix the connection?

For context:Last night I changed my Ethernet cable from my PC to my Xbox. So wired connection pulled out of my PC to placed into my Xbox. It was working fine for my Xbox and giving me the speeds I needed. Come to this morning and I change the cord back over to my PC and now it won't connect to the internet, saying that there is no cord plugged in.I changed it back and forth and it's not a cable issue. It works on the Xbox and has connection. My PC can only connect to the internet through a wired connection. I have tried resetting the modem and computer. Plugging in and out etc. I'm sure it has

My reliable ethernet connection no longer works

To better understand the query, please answer the following questions:

• After restarting is your computer in normal mode or not?
• Are you getting any error message?

I suggest you to reset the modem\ router and check if the Ethernet connection works or not.

If still the issue persist then I suggest you to follow the steps from the below article

Power surge now Ethernet connection says no IP address

As the power surge is a dangerous happening that will surely affect your device as well as the Ethernet, here are the steps we suggest that you do in order to be connected to the internet again:

• Run the Network troubleshooter followed by networking commands.
• Update the network adapter driver.
• If that doesn't work, roll back the network adapter driver.
• Temporarily turn off firewalls.
• Temporarily turn off any antivirus or malware-prevention software.
• Uninstall the network adapter driver and restart.
• Use network reset to reinstall network devices. Note that this step is the last option if the first six steps doesn't really work.

Every update turns off my internet connection?

Visit network card manufacturer website to download latest driver if installing latest driver wont work reset network settings.

On Windows 10, you can also use the "Network reset" feature to fix Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity problems after installing an update or at any time that you can't connect to the network.

To reset the network adapters on your device, use these steps:

1. Open Settings.
2. Click on Network & Internet.
3. Click on Status.
4. Under the "Change your network settings" section, click the Network reset option.
5. Click the Reset now button.
