    How do I reset my open with .package files to none?


    I accidentally made my .package files open with chrome and I want to change it back to none the white paper but when I'm at the screen to change it, there's no option to have it open with nothing

    Simply, HOW? I got the DDS plugin but the POS wont open DDS files still. Can someone give me a step-by-step rundown of how to install the DDS plugin for gimp so I know if I'm missing something?

    Windows Installer Error: This installation package cannot be opened.

    Hi AJ,

    Thank you for posting in Community.

    We are glad to provide the assistance required to help you answer your query.

    The above error can occur if the locally cached Windows Installer package (*.msi) file is damaged or corrupted.

    To rectify the above, I suggest that you try the steps mentioned below and check if you are able to install the software successfully.

    • Open the \Windows\Installer folder on your computer's hard disk.
    • Right-click any file with an .msi extension.
    • Click Properties on the shortcut menu. The
      Subject       box on the Summary tab contains the name of the product that installed the .msi file.
    • Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each .msi file in the \Installer folder, and delete the .msi file for the software that you are trying to install.

    How do I reset my open with .package files to none?

    "always use this app to open .package files"

    Hi armpitties , it is not easy to remove a file association in Windows 10,

    Please take this step by Step and the problem will be resolved

    Open Windows File Explorer

    On the view Ribbon (tab) tick the box marked 'File Name Extensions'

    Close File Explorer

    Right click your Desktop and choose New - Text File

    Change the file extension on that new file from .txt to .exe

    Confirm the change

    Right click a .package file, choose open with - Choose another App

    Check the box marked 'Always use this app to open .package files' - IMPORTANT!

    Scroll to the bottom and click 'More Apps'

    Again scroll to the bottom and choose 'Find another app on this PC'

    Navigate to the dummy file exe on your Desktop and click OK

    The .package file will not open

    Delete the dummy exe file on your Desktop and restart your PC

    The file association will then be broken!
