    How do I reset my Windows Hello PIN?


    I've started using my laptop after a few years of not really using it and realised it's still tied to an old email I held when I was a young teenager and I don't remember any of the details for. I'm trying to connect my new email account to the laptop but it's asking me to enter my PIN, which I don't know. I've gone onto Settings and Sign In options to reset it but it's only letting me reset the PIN to my old email address. How am I supposed to get around this? Is there another way to reset my PIN?

    • Click the Add button for the PIN and set your PIN.

    Forgotten PIN and expired password

    Hi Dyari,

    Thanks for your answer.

    I tried steps of both links:

    • #1: reset PIN code
      • I see no link "reset your PIN"on login page --> I can't reset it
    • #2: change or reset windows password
      • My Windows account is not displayed at all on login page.
      • I am using a local account
    If you have any other suggestion, I would be more than happy to try.
