Windows 10: How do I reset the PIN for my laptop on another device through my Microsoft account?

I cannot sign into Windows 11 Desktop. Whenever it asks for my PIN, it does not input letters and only numbers seem to work. Therefore, I cannot access Account Settings to reset my PIN and the “Forgot my PIN” message has also vanished so I have no way of logging in. How do I reset the PIN for my laptop on another device through my Microsoft account?I looked at other users with similar problems and found that you can navigate this issue by choosing to sign in using your password, but this option is not available for me. Creating a Microsoft account PIN

If you are unable to create a PIN for your Microsoft account, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:

1.Reset Microsoft Account: Try resetting your Microsoft account password. You can do this using a third-party device such as a cell phone, tablet, etc. by going to the Microsoft Account Recovery page and following the instructions to reset your password. After resetting the password, restart the computer and try creating the PIN again.

2.I would suggest that you can refer to the steps in Start your PC in safe mode in Windows - Microsoft Support to start your computer in safe mode.

Please create a new account in Safe Mode by following the steps below and see if the issue still persists under the new account.

• Search for CMD, then run it in administrator mode and enter the following command:

Note: USERNAME PASSWORD can be replaced with your desired account name and password, if you don't need a password you can leave out PASSWORD.

Using microsoft account to reset pin on device

Can I use my microsoft account on one device to change the settings on a different device? I bought and set up an Acer laptop yesterday. Bought windows and set it up. Today my laptop says: 'Your PIN is no longer available due to a change on the security
settings on this device. You can set up your PIN again by going to Settings>Accounts>Sign-in options'

but i cant access settings on the laptop because when i try i just keep getting the message telling me to access settings!

i can access my microsoft account on my phone and i can see the device there linked to the the account.

Is there any way of sorting out the PIN problem on my laptop from my microsoft account on my phone?
