Windows 10: How Do I Resize Windows 10 Display Settings to Fit My HDTV monitor? I Know How.

Dear Fellow Frustrated Windows 10 Users:I figured out a way to get Windows 10 to fit my HDTV monitor. The solution is not in the Windows 10 Display. They irresponsibly left the resizing and repositioning controls out of the display settings. You will have to adjust the Aspect Ratio and/or Scan Settings within in your HDTV settings. Everyone's HDTV is different but generally speaking this is what you can do:1 Click "Settings" on your HDTV remote or whatever gets you into the menu options2 Click "Picture" or "Screen" or whatever is closest in description3 Click Aspect Ratio S

Windows 10 changes primary display to HDTV

I updated this a week ago saying the solution did not work . Also added that HDTV is not always on so the PC monitor could be display 1 or 2 . I also updated my original post saying this .

I understand that you are facing issues with the display scaling on your external displays. We will certainly look into this for you.

As you are using Vizio TV, you may have to try using custom resolution settings if the in-built settings do not provide the required settings.

For better clarity, please let us know:

• What is the version of Windows 10 that is currently installed on your computer? You can click on Search and type
  winver.
• Are you aware of any recent changes to the system, such as updates, after which you are facing this issue?
• What is the make and model of your computer?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to check the steps mentioned in the Workaround section in

Desktop fit in Windows 10

I suggest you to follow the below steps to resize the Desktop image and check if it helps.

• Right click on the Desktop and select the
  Personalize.
• Select the Background from the left pane.
• Under Choose a fit click on the drop down. There you will get a list of options to resize the Desktop image.
