Windows 10: How do I resolve the issue of incompatible drivers preventing windows security from using...

I think they are connected to the software for my smartphone that functions as a bridge for importing and exporting files from the phone. However I don't think it's necessary. I looked in device manager but I don't know where these would be.Thanks

Incompatible drivers prevent switching on Memory Integrity

This did not work for me. There was no need to go into the Registry manually; However I finally resolved the problem. I had to actually remove the drivers themselves from the Windows System file. I first used Control Panel to remove the Logitech programs but even though they said drivers were removed they were not removed. I ran the Windows Security app again and there were two drivers that were listed as incompatible that were not removed. So I then MANUALLY removed those drivers from the Windows System folder. Then I did a restart. Then I did another Windows security app scan and turned on the Memory Integrity and then did a restart. After that I merely plugged in the Logitech Webcam C920 and it worked. I then installed the Logitech Capture program with no problem. So you should advise your users of this remedy --- they will have to go in and manually remove all of the drivers listed as incompatible.

 

Deleting driver files in System 32 folder are coming up as incompatible and preventing memory integrity being turned on

Hi Ramesh - thanks for the suggestion. They did disappear from the Aotoruns list when I deleted them. However, they're still present on the system and coming up as incompatible drivers and preventing Memory Integrity being turned back on.

 

What can be done to resolve Memory Integrity issues, if no info is given in the Incompatability issue page?

I understand that you are having some problems with Windows Security Center. You seem to be unable to open Memory Integrity in Core Isolation . You have tried "Resolve any driver incompatibility type issues and scan again" under that page, but it still won't open.



Core Isolation essentially enhances system security by virtualising the system core files, thus preventing applications from accessing them.Memory Integrity is a function of Core Isolation.There are two reasons why Memory Integrity cannot be opened:

• If there are drivers on your computer that need to call the system core files, these drivers will be recognised by the Core Isolation function as incompatible drivers, so the function cannot be switched on. If you have a problem with the kernel isolation, you can remove all the "incompatible drivers" and try to open it again.
  

However, from your description, it seems that no "incompatible drivers" appear after you click on "View incompatible drivers"?

• This problem may also be a hardware incompatibility issue, so try unplugging your connected hardware and try again.
  

The Core Isolation feature will improve the security of your computer but will have a negative impact on the performance of your computer, on the one hand it will limit the performance of your hardware, for example the frame rate of your graphics card will drop by 5% to 25%. On the other hand, this feature will make some drivers unusable when enabled. As this feature disables other applications from accessing your computer's core data, some drivers will not be able to access the data and will therefore not work properly. This prevents some of the drivers from accessing data and thus from working properly. The inability of the drivers to work properly will result in some of the functions on your computer not working properly.



Therefore, although Core Isolation increases the security of your computer, it is more suitable for business users who require a high level of security or for professionals who have confidential files on their computer. If you are a personal user, leaving this feature on will not affect your computer's security too much.
