How do I restore system folders like: "downloads", "movies", "documents", and such.

So, i relocated said folders to second partition, however, later I realized that my system partition needs some more space.

Because of that, I shrunk the second partition and created a third one to replace it. I backup-ed the files on the second one to the third one which included said system folders, and deleted the second partition in order to expand the system one.

Now, the system is unable to find the localization of said folders

Suddenly, Documents folder has moved to Downloads

    Hi,

One possible cause why your Documents folder suddenly moved to Downloads folder due to corrupted system files. To assist you better, we'd like to gather more information:

    • Have you made any recent changes aside from connecting to your university network?
    • Did you get any error messages when you tried to move it back?
    • Does this happen with Documents folder only or with other folders also?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

We're looking forward to your response.

How do I restore system folders like: "downloads", "movies", "documents", and such.

Documents/Pictures folders under 'This PC' refer to onedrive - not the local folders

Since the only folder that has incorrect file path is the Documents folder under This PC, we would suggest you do the same steps provided above. However, do it in your Documents folder under This PC. To do so, kindly follow the steps below:

    • Open File Explorer
    • Click This PC
    • Right-click on Documents
    • Click Properties
    • Click Location
    • Click Restore Default
    • Click Apply
    • Click OK
Also, we would like to inform you that "winhelponline.com" is not associated with Microsoft.
