Windows 10: How do I retrieve my account password

My DELL laptop won't work so I am reinstalling Windows 10. But when it gives me my email address and asks me for my password, it says my password is incorrect. I checked with a different computer, which shares the same administrative info, but the password is correct. How do I fix the computer? Thanks.

Local Account password changed to Online Account Password

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps on how to switch from Microsoft account to Local account:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Local account instead.
• Enter your Microsoft account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the Local account and click OK.
• Now, login to Local account.
