How do I revert the taskbar search UI to an older design?

I've recently upgraded my windows in a long time from the 2018 version. However, with that being the case, all the new UI updates serious infuriates me and I would like to revert to how it used to look. I've already disabled the weather icon and reverted the file explorer to its old UI, but I can't seem to find a way to revert the old search UI, where the whole search bar is conjoined with the start menu instead of being its separate thing. Seeing how there's a gap between the search bar and the border of the screen really pisses me off. Furthermore, is it possible to selective alter which fun

    :)

  2. Taskbar search

    Hi,

To assist you better, kindly send us a screenshot and provide more details by answering the following questions:

    • When you say "taskbar search function", do you mean the Start menu search field?
    • Are you getting any error messages upon accessing the taskbar search?
Meanwhile, to help resolve your concern, we suggest that you run the System file checker and DISM tool to fix issues with corrupted system files that may be causing the issue. To do this, follow these steps:

    • Press Windows Key + X on your keyboard.
    • Choose Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type or copy these commands followed by hitting Enter:

      sfc /scannow

      dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Do let us know how it goes.

  3. Search and taskbar keeps popping up

    Hi Sazmo,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Are you referring to taskbar preview window pop-ups?

If yes, there is no option to disable the taskbar window pop-ups when you hover the mouse, this is by design.

However you may Auto-hide taskbar by following the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Right click on the taskbar and select properties.

    • In the Taskbar tab, Place a tick mark for Auto-hide the taskbar.
You may provide your suggestions in the feedback app.

It will be directly referred by our developer’s team for further improvement.

    Follow the steps:

    • Go to Start, enter the phrase Windows Feedback, and then select Windows Feedback.
    • See if someone else has given similar feedback by entering the topic, such as Microsoft Music.
    • If you find similar feedback, select it, add any details, and then select Me too.
    • To narrow your search to a specific category, pick the category that most closely matches your feedback (so it gets to the right people quickly). For example, for feedback about the Music app, select Apps > Music.
    • If you don’t find any similar feedback, select New Feedback, and choose a topic from Select a category and then select a subcategory.
    • Enter your feedback (the more details the better!), add a screenshot if you can, and you're done.

Hope the information helps. Do reply if you need further assistance.
