Windows 10: How do I rip/burn music files to my PC?

I have a Windows 11 laptop and I want to put music onto Windows Media Player Legacy but it doesn't work. Is there any way to get it to work?

Hi,

We suggest that you perform these steps and check if the issue persists:

• Press "Windows" + "E" button on the keyboard.
• Go to "View > Navigation pane" and select "Show libraries".
• Now in the navigation pane, right-click on the "Music" library under "Libraries" and select "Delete".
• Now right-click on the "Libraries" and select "Restore default libraries".
• Now try to rip.

It will rip CD's.

Insert Music CD, select all songs you want to copy.

Rip CD will now appear - select this.

After all songs have ripped to library, you will NOT just be able to drag them to Burn List as you might think.

Instead, click on Music. You will see a list of all of your music CD's. Scroll to find the CD you just ripped.

Select all songs. From here you will be able to drag to your Burn List. Start Burn.

2. Which application or program are you using to burn the files?
   
3. When you say ‘IT SAYS SOME FILES CANNOT BE BURN’, are those files saved on PC?
   
4. Were you able to burn files previously on the PC?
   
5. What is the file format of those files that you are trying to burn?
   
6. Have you installed all pending updates on the PC to keep it up to date?
   

When you copy music, pictures, and videos from your PC to a blank CD or DVD, it's called "burning." When you copy music, pictures, and videos from a CD or DVD to your PC, it's called "ripping." You can use Windows Media Player to do both.
