Windows 10: How do I save wav files to desktop?

I am a new windows user and I cannot figure out how to save wav files on my desktop. Every time I attempt it, it creates a link to the song. I purchased this computer specifically to organize my client's music and remove it from my mac but I can't figure this out. Any ideas?

Cannot Play WAV files

OK, let's try a few admin commands:

1. Create a desktop shortcut for cmd.exe.
2. Right-click this shortcut, then left-click "Run as administrator".
3. Accept the challenge. You will get a black frame.
4. Type these commands and press Enter after each:
   
   takeown /f F:\ /r
   
   icacls F:\ /t /c /grant everyone:F
   
   attrib /s -h -r -s F:\*.wav
5. Try once more to play a .wav file
6. If still unsuccessful, copy one of the files to your desktop, then play it there.

 

Opening .WAV file that was not saved

hi dave, i downloaded the audacity and was able to use the import raw data function, and then exported it as a .wav file. then windows media player was able to open the file but unfortunately, it did not play ….. actually sounded maybe like it was playing
it very fast.... but it was inaudible. if you have any other suggestions with using it in audacity, please let me know.....seems like i am closer.

batch renaming file extensions .WAV to .wav

Hi Stephanie,

This is a FAT32 limitation. Try renaming in 2 passes.

Example:

• ren *.WAV *.blahblah
  

and then

• ren *.blahblah *.wav
