How do I search my computer instead of the internet in Windows 11? I can't find anything anymore because of this horrible design. Where's the "off" button?

Can't save Google as search provider - PC Windows 10, Internet Explorer 11

Hi all,

I recently upgraded my PC to Windows 10 from 7. I'm using Internet Explorer 11 as my main browser, instead of Microsoft Edge.

Bing is the default search provider for Internet Explorer 11, but I want to change to Google.

However, each time I've attempted to save Google as an alternative search provider (Using the Tools / manage add-ons / Search Providers / and Internet Explorer Gallery tabs route) it deletes it from the list after I close the web browser.

Can anybody explain to me how I can permanently save Google in my search provider list?

Internet Explorer 11 not working on Windows 10

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Internet Explorer. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Explorer.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the Internet Explorer performance troubleshooter

Internet Explorer won't start

Since the issue persists, we suggest that you rebuild the Internet Explorer 11 by turning it off and on from the Windows features. To do this, follow the steps below:

• In the search box, type Program and Features and press
  Enter.
• On the left pane of Program and Features window, click
  Turn Windows features on or off.
• Untick the check box for Internet Explorer
  11 and click OK.
• Once done, restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
• After restarting, re-do the steps above except for the step 3 which you need to tick the check box for
  Internet Explorer 11 and click OK.
• Restart your computer once more and check if the issue persists.

Let us know if you can now launch the Internet Explorer 11.
