Windows 10: How do I show an app on my laptop while using my monitor?

Hello,I just bought a new monitor and I hooked it up to my laptop. I selected "extend these displays" and set the new monitor as the main display. I want to have Discord displayed on my laptop while playing video games on my monitor, but whenever I click an app on my laptop it displays on my monitor. The only thing displayed on my laptop is my home screen and my taskbar. How do I fix this?Thanks!

My workaround is to use PowerPoint Screen Recorder but this need additional screen capture.

The reason for Screen Recorder is Windows 10 Mouse Cursor for Office Menu item disappear when select Screen Capture App. It is cumbersome to show Tech Support what is selected on Office App on captured screen...

Apps getting moved to Secondary monitor after PC wakes up from sleep mode

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand how it could be when the feature doesn’t work as it is supposed to. We will look into this. Please reply to the following questions:

• Are you facing the similar issue when making the laptop monitor as the Primary monitor?
  
• What is model number of your laptop?
  

In the meantime, I suggest you to try updating the display drivers and check if that helps. Please follow the steps from the article

Update drivers in Windows 10 to update the graphics driver.

Also, I suggest you to try removing the hidden monitor drivers and check if that makes a difference. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press and hold the Windows + X key on the keyboard.
   
2. Select Device manager.
   
3. Click View tab.
   
4. Select Show hidden devices.
   
5. Expand Monitors and remove all the greyed out devices. To remove the greyed out devices, right click on the device and select
   uninstall.
   
6. Restart your computer.

Laptop won't show list of available networks

We suggest checking the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your laptop.

Please follow these steps:

• Click the Windows logo.
• Go to Settings (gear icon).
• Select Network and Internet.
• Then Wi-Fi.
• Make sure the Wi-Fi radio button is On.
• Select Show available networks, then you'll be able to see the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
