Windows 10: how do i sign in with pin unavailable?

i attempted to do a clean boot of my laptop but something went wrong and i'm not sure what.when i start up my laptop it says "Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again.".when i select 'set up my pin' it says "You need to install an app for this task. Would you like to search for one in the Store?"of course i say yes, but it says after a while, with the heading "explorer.exe - System Error."the error says "The systerm detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. Win10/HP Pavillion - PIN "unavailable"

Using Win10 on an HP Pavillion Gaming Laptop

PIN went away. Now when I go into create a PIN I get "Something went wrong. Try again later". The step prior is: Start.>Settings>Accounts>Sign in Options>Windows Hello PIN and it reads "This options is currently unavailable - click to learn more". I
followed the steps suggested, but they don't work

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.

PIN unavailable at sign in poor guidance

Louie_101 provided guidance that if you get a PIN unavailable message at sign-in (which prevents you from even getting into your computer) that you should go through multiple steps that require you to have access to your computer? The screen says click to set up your PIN again but I end up in the same place.

Please remove these errant instructions and provide some proper guidance.
