    Ok, so this is the most aggravating "Support" experience I have ever had. Trying to contact the support team is tantamount to finding the Lost City of Atlantis. Everything in the carefully crafted support network is conditionally formatted for automation. If an issue that you are experiencing falls outside of that conditional formatting you are simply out of luck. I cannot express my frustration properly with this system and the lack of any care for customers/users of Microsoft products. The online support system is frustratingly circular in it's method, and the same goes for the 1-800 number phone tree. If anything, that system is by far the most frustrating thing I have ever experienced. Having an automated system tell me that I would need to register my account on a separate site and experience a 48 hour wait was absolutely infuriating. CONGRATULATIONS MICROSOFT SUPPORT TEAM!!! YOU DIDN"T NEED TO INTERACT WITH THOSE PESKY TROUBLESOME USERS AND CUSTOMERS!!! There are no options or avenues to speak directly with a human being at all. Why even provide phone support as an option if that is the case? Secondarily, everything on the phone tree is voice activated, thank heavens I have the ability to speak! If you are hearing impaired or lack the ability to speak, you are out of luck. There are no numerical options provided unless you want to listen to the phone tree in Spanish.

    With that being said, if there are any humans that actually work at Microsoft Support and actually care about what they do or their product my issue is as follows:

    I work with a charitable organization as their admin. Due to the nature of the organization we do not have a "Business" setup with Microsoft. Any admin support that is available to others, we do not have that avenue to pursue.

    I have a user that cannot access the outlook application as it is non-functional. The only way they can access outlook is using internet browsers. When attempting to open the PC app they are prompted that outlook requires an update. After confirming the update and clicking "OK", a notice prompts the user that outlook is unable to open the OST files for the user. This is a new issue that presented itself yesterday when the user was unable to send an email to a group that she had created in her outlook address book. This is the first time she has experienced the issue using groups to send emails as it is something she does regularly.

    After looking up the "Fix" within the support system, I found that I cannot complete the troubleshooting due to the user PC not having the scanpst.exe file on their system. Microsoft does not offer a download of this file either.

    The only other option that I have available is to create a new profile. I would be more than happy to do this if I can confirm that creating a new profile will not cause a loss of data or contacts for the user in their outlook. I can't confirm this because Microsoft is determined to prevent their support staff from ever speaking with the customers/users.

    It seems to me that the fix is pretty simple, download the scanpst.exe file and complete the troubleshooting. However, I could be wrong entirely and the issue could be much more complex or simple. I wouldn't know as Microsoft has done everything within their power to prevent their customer support team from having to interact with their customers/users. I would love to be able to ask questions and get a better understanding of the issue.

    If I sound frustrated, I am! It is absolutely ridiculous that I have to seek assistance from a forum instead of an actual support team member! At this point I suspect that the entirety of the Microsoft "Support Team" to be a fabrication and there are no actual humans working in support.

    If there are actual humans that work within support for Microsoft and you actually care about what you are doing and the products that Microsoft provides I would greatly appreciate any assistance.
