    How do I stop a particular windows 10 update from installing?


    Something in the latest windows 10 quality update puts my computer in an endless auto repair cycle every time I try to restart. I removed the update and the problem went away. After I delayed the update as long as I could, it reinstalled and the problem came back. I uninstalled again but cant find any way to stop that update.Ive seen mention of a Show Windows Updates tool but it is no longer at the end of the links given.

    That doesn't stop windows update from grabbing them on next run, at least it didn't back in the RTM days. It simply stops a secondary process from installing them immediately.

    • Right click "My Computer"
    • Click "Properties"
    • Click on "Hardware" tab
    • Click "Device Installation Settings"
    • Tick the "No, let me choose what to do"
    • Tick "Never install driver software from Windows Update"

    It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

    It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

    I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
