Windows 10: How do I stop a program from auto running every day

I have Quicken scheduled to open automatically every weeknight at a specific time. I am going to move Quicken from my old Windows 10 computer to my new Windows 11 computer. I want to discontinue this auto open on my old computer and start it on my new computer. I'd have sworn I used Task Scheduler to perform the auto start, but when I go to Task Scheduler, there is no task listed in the library which would open Quicken. Is there some other method, or a separate library in Task Scheduler, which may be controlling the auto start? Is Task Scheduler the appropriate method to add auto start for Q

There are certain apps in Windows that aren't possible to be stopped as they're needed by your system. If you want to stop certain apps to be stopped from running in the back ground, follow the steps below.

• Press Windows key, and type in "task manager".
• Choose Task Manager > More details.
• Right-click on the apps that you want to stop from running, and click on
  End task.

Let us know what happens after following the suggestion.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

Stop Auto Restarting Program

That does not appear to be a valid program. It could easily be a virus I would suggest:

• delete it if you can
  
• boot into safe mode and delete that file if you can't while in normal boot
  
• update your antivirus and run a full system scan
  
• examine your event viewer, perhaps you can see what program is causing this?
  
• is there a scheduled task that puts this back on? look at your windows scheduler for anything strange
  
• if all else fails, I would suggest combo fix: Download ComboFix
