    How do I stop "Antimalware Service Executable" from using ~200mb of memory


    Hi there,I've recently found my laptop's memory bogged down and running applications much slower than the day before. I was looking into processes and found this "Antimalware Service Executable" seemed to be a major contributor to my memory usage. I googled this and tried the two most common fixes that involved;1. adding an exclusion of "MsMpEng.exe" 2. changing settings in task scheduler. Neither of these have affected the memory usage of "Antimalware Service Executable" and I'm wondering if anyone else has any solutions. I was using this computer like normal yesterday September 19th only t

    Hello,

    Currently I'm facing a problem with the antimalware service executable. It uses half of my memory, I did tried some solutions such as: Change Windows Defender’s schedule and Add Antimalware Service Executable to Windows Defender exclusion list. However, none of these solutions has yet fixed my issue. Any help is appreciated.

    Should I install another antivirus program?
