Windows 10: How do I stop being offered Outlook when I start Windows 11

Whenever I start Windows 11, the display starts with a pretty picture, then where my password should be there is the message "Streamline all your email accounts with the new outlook". I have to click on the screen to get the password text box to appear. If I don't enter my password within maybe 15 seconds, it disappears, the picture comes back with the annoying message. How do I stop the behavior without using Outlook?I am running this on VMWare Fusion but that should be irrelevant to this problem.

This is an awkward problem to solve and one I don't think is worth the time and effort.

The OP would be better off either using a modern webmail service like gmail or outlook.com or using a modern email client like Windows Live Mail like FX-GMC suggested or Thunderbird from Mozilla. If nothing else, Outlook Distress was notorious for corrupting its data files and losing all your email in one easy step. Not worth it.

This was going to be my suggestion as well. I just wasn't sure if it worked with XP. It is definitely way better than Outlook Express, and I actually prefer it to regular Outlook as well.

No. Also I followed the steps on Manage suggested recipients in the To, Cc, and Bcc boxes with Auto-Complete

cleared this list (Empty Auto-Complete List.)
disabled the option ("Use Autocomplete list..") and again cleared the list
relaunched Outlook in between
still those very old email addresses show up.

I give up.
