Windows 10: How do i stop cortana from repeating microphone sound back to me

When I activate Cortana keyword permission it plays what my microphone is hearing back to me. I'm using windows 11 version 22H2.These pictures are in danishMy settings look like this when the problem occurs:and like this when the problem doesn't occur:But I want to keep the Cortana keyword permission activated.

Cortana Microphone headset problems.

Thank you for using Windows 10.

I understand your concern. I suggest you to follow the steps:

• Open settings by clicking thee windows icon the click settings.
• Search Sound in the top right corner and click it.
• Then right click the one device you want to use, then click default communication device.
• Then try Cortana.

As you've already set up microphone but I would suggest you to check again by typing microphone set up and go through that, it should set everything up for you.

Cortana does not recognize my ATR-4750 microphone

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1.

Run the Microphone Setup Wizard

1. Type “Set up Mic” in Cortana’s Search box.

2. Follow the instructions provided to set up your microphone.

Step 2.

Check your microphone’s drivers

1. Type in “Device Manager” in the Search box and select it from the list.

2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers

3. Right-click (or tap and hold) your microphone device and select Update Driver Software.

4. Select Search automatically for updated driver software. This option will scan the Internet for the correct version of the driver or determine if you already have the most recent driver installed. You may be prompted to restart your computer to install
the driver.

Step 3.

Manually turn up the mic gain

1. Type in “Sound” in the Search box and select Sound (Control Panel) from the list.

2. Select the Recording tab.

3. Right-click (or tap and hold) on the active microphone input device and select Properties.

4. Select the Levels tab.

Manually drag the Microphone gain to a higher level and click Apply.

Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

Cortana can’t hear me

If Cortana doesn’t respond when you speak into your PC, this might be why:

• Your microphone may be not be set up. In the search box on the taskbar, type
  set up a microphone, then select Set up a microphone and follow the prompts.
  
  
  
• You may not have a microphone. In the search box on the taskbar, type
  Manage audio devices and select the result. Go to the Recording tab of the box that appears. If you have a microphone, you’ll see it listed here.
